My first day as a waitress
Today is my first day at my new job. I’m going to be a waitress at a coffee shop next to the train station.
People say that it is a very busy place to work. In the mornings and in the late afternoon lots of people go there before they catch the train to work, or in the late afternoon before they go home.
On my first day, I’m going to learn how to make different types of coffee and tea. My boss is going to show me how to use the till and also how to bake different cakes.
When I’m at work I have to wear a uniform. The uniform is a grey skirt with an orange shirt. I don’t like orange very much. My favourite colours are blue and red.
As it’s my first real job, I’m feeling a little nervous. I hope everything goes well.

Hi, this is a message for Tony. Tony, it’s Jack. On Sunday evening we’re going out for Julia’s birthday, and well, I wanted to tell you the arrangements. We’re going to meet at a restaurant in town. I’m not sure which one yet, I’ll let you know nearer the time. But, we’ll meet somewhere at seven o’clock. There’s going to be nine of us. Because it’s Julia’s birthday and she loves the colour yellow, we are all going to wear yellow clothes. I think it will be fun and a good surprise for her!So anyway, don’t forget to buy the cake and bring it to the restaurant. I don’t think we’ll be out a long time, so tell your parents to pick you up at ten. See you on Sunday!
